Harmony Book Reviews

Promoting Your Book on My Blog

As a book lover and reviewer, I often think it’s my duty to spread the word about books I love. This blog is my way of doing that. If you’re interested in sending my your book to review, please read on:

Review Policy:

Please note I ONLY review YA and MG books!

If you’re interested in having me review your book, please send an email to harmonybookreviews[at]yahoo[dot]com with the summary and any other information you feel I should have. I will look into the book and if it’s something that catches my interest, I will reply back with my address. However, I do NOT guarantee a review.

Once I recieve the book, it will go onto my shelf, which is organized by month of release date. I attempt to read every book during it’s release month but I do have a life outside of this blog and sometimes it keeps me very busy.

When I do get around reading a book, I go by the fifty-page rule. If I’m not hooked by page 50, I put the book down and move onto another. That means, of course, that there will be no review for that book.

My Stats:

As of July 2009, I get an average of 149 views on my blog a day (in the past few weeks, it’s been over 300 per day, though). I also have 115 followers via Google Reader.

Interviews, Guestblogs, Etc.

Besides reviews, I am also happy to host interview, guest blogs, and contests for an author. However, I will only do this when I also have the book to review. I don’t want to promote a book I don’t like.

If there is anything else that the author would like to do, I am generally happy to help.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at: harmonybookreviews[at]yahoo[dot]com

Do you have an e-mail address where we can send you synopsis
of books we’d like to offer to you to review?

You can send it to harmonybookreviews@yahoo.com

Hi. My name is Ellen Potter and I’m the author of several middle-grade novels, including the award-winning OLIVIA KIDNEY series, PISH POSH, and the upcoming kids’ writing guide SPILLING INK: A BOOK FOR KIDS WHO LOVE TO WRITE. This May, my new book SLOB will be published (this one features a 12-year-old boy as the main protagonist). My publisher (Philomel Books/Penguin) is sending out the bulk of review copies but they just sent me several galleys and I’d love to pass one along to you for review. Would that be ok, and if so, where should I mail it?
If you’d like you can take a peek at my website http://ellenpotter.com
Regards,
Ellen Potter
